Potassium Chlorate

Potassium chlorate, i.e. KClO3, is a strong oxidant in an acidic environment. Potassium chlorate is more stable than sodium chlorate, it can be used in the production of bleach, as an oxidant in match medicine, in the manufacture of fireworks, explosives and detonators, and as an oxidant and mordant for aniline dyeing in the printing and dyeing industry, or as an agricultural herbicide.
